Beaches of Thailand

Beaches of Thailand

  • Ao Nang is a central point of the coastal province of Krabi, Thailand. The town consists chiefly of a main street, which is totally dominated by restaurants, pubs, shops and other commerce aimed at tourists. The main beach is used by sunbathers to a certain extent, but there are hundreds of longtail boats that offer access to other beaches on the mainland and on nearby island.
  • Cha Am is a district(Amphoe) in the southern part of Phetchaburi province, central Thailand.
  • Haad Khuad or, Bottle Beach is a beach on the northern portion of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand. Named Bottle Beach for its protected cove, and known for quiet isolation on an island known mostly for its riotous Full Moon Party. The beach is most easily reached by boat from the northern end of the island, though this is not possible in bad weather. There is also a poorly marked mountain trail leading to the beach and primitive road which the owners of the beach’s guest houses will drive you down if the boats are not running.
  • Haad Rin is a peninsular beach area and town on the southern tip of Ko Pha Ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. Its two main beaches are Sunset Beach (Haad Rin Nai) to the south and the larger Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok) to the north. The famous Full Moon Party takes place on Sunrise Beach each month.
  • Hua Hin is a famous beach resort town in Thailand, located in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula. It has a population of 84,883 over the area of 911 km², some 200 km south of Bangkok, Thailand, and is one of 8 districts (Amphoe) of the Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
  • Karon Beach refers to a beach, and the town adjoining it, on the western coast of Phuket, Thailand. The beach is a popular destination for tourists as it is generally quieter than neighbouring Patong Beach. It is especially popular with Scandinavian tourists, with many businesses catering especially to them.Kata Noi Beach
  • Kata Noi is a beach on the southwestern side of the island of Phuket in Thailand. It prolongs the Kata Beach to the south. The beach is bordered to the north by the Mon Tri’s Boathouse resort, and most of the beachfront is occupied by the resort of Kata Thani.
  • Khao Lak is a resort beach in Thailand, located 100 km north of Phuket in Takua Pa district, Phang Nga province and popular as a departure point for liveaboard scuba diving trips.
  • Ko Phi Phi Don (”ko” meaning “island” in the Thai language) is the largest of the Phi Phi Islands, in Thailand. It is the only island in the group with permanent inhabitants.
  • Patong Beach is a beach on Phuket’s west coast, and to the town adjoining it. It is the main tourist resort in Phuket. It also contains an important centre of Phuket’s nightlife and is the centre of cheap shopping on the island. The beach became popular with western tourists, especially Europeans, in the late 1980s. Numerous large hotels and chain hotels are located in Patong.
  • Pattaya is a city in Thailand, located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 165 km southeast of Bangkok in the province of Chon Buri. It is one of the largest centers of tourism in Thailand, with some 5 million visitors arriving in 2004. Tourists visit Pattaya for many reasons including luxury hotels, beautiful beaches, friendly people, excellent shopping, reasonable prices and a wide variety of nearby tourist attractions.
  • Railay Beach is a small peninsula located between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang. Accessible only by boat due to the high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access. These cliffs attract rock climbers from all over the world, but the area is also popular due to its beautiful beaches and quiet relaxing atmosphere. Accommodation ranges from inexpensive bungalows popular with backpackers and climbers, to a five star resort. The three main areas of Railay consist of West Railay, East Railay and Tonsai, with Tonsai catering more to climbers.
