Best Place to Snorkel in Thailand

Hello, we just came back from Thailand and we went to phuket and absolutely loved our stay but unlike you guys we do not have any kids. phuket is very cheap and transport by took took is the most common way to get around. We love snorkeling also and talked to a dive company guy who told us about Kata beach which is just south of patong beach, he told us that’s were they take people to snorkel off shore. So we checked it out and it was really lovely, only a short swim to see a reasonably sized reef and plenty of fish life. Snorkling equipment is hired on the beach for very little, We snorkeled there many times. There are resorts at Kata beach, some flashy expensive ones and reasonably priced ones too. If i where you id do a google search on Kata beach if you are interested as it is a nice spot and yet yas wouldn’t be too far from Patong which is the busy touristy part of phuket.
Here’s a tip though, don’t buy clothing from patong as they want more for their clothes. There is another big market under a huge tent on the way to Kata beach which sells exactly the same clothing and they will sell at cheaper prices. Also buy larger than you think as the clothing we bought back have all shrunk.
